A Bright Golden Place.. such as Vienna

Another school, Another city. This time a visit to a coloured school, with lovely people and an incredible atmosphere.

My Top-Of-The-List goal was to make my school start a Twinning with these students and teachers, with this Open-Mindedness. They all feel like inclusion is not a must, but a natural attitude, and diversity is not even taken into consideration because: we all are different. Headmaster Christoph, teachers Simone, Gerald, Peter and Dieter, all made sure I could visit the school and present mine with the idea of a future "integration".

And Wien... The Golden place.

 Viaggiare è l'unica via per riconnettersi con se stessi, per vedere il mondo sotto una luce diversa, e poi un altra e poi un'altra ancora. Osservare esseri umani con abitudini sconosciute, assaporare quotidianità incredibilmente nuove, percepire cicli solari estranei al nostro organismo, venti, piogge, lune, gocce di rugiada, laghi.

Il viaggio ribalta concetti acclarati, assottiglia il senso del sé fino a farlo diventare una minuscola parte del cosmo, che ha il privilegio di osservare e la responsabilità di rispettare, uomini e natura.

Il Viaggio è tutto.

Nothing better than painting together for a deep dive into the local culture!

Our Landlord is not only a charming and very gentle woman .. she's also an incredible artist! And we've had the pleasure to spend an entire evening in her Atelier, trying to express ourselves at the most! 

Of course, with our Finnish friends TIIA, Nella and Katja.

The adventure started with a round of Ulla's creations and also with her story as a multi talented person and a never stopping improving woman. 

Then we had a eyes closed breathing preparatory time and that was the starting point for expressing ourselves with the colours!

The result was surprisingly a work done uniquely led by intuitions and feelings which made us choose the colours (and the techniques she had previously explained).

Hankasalmi - Sauna+Serenity

Finland is calmness to me,

After 24 years whenever I come to Finland I try my best to meet him... During that faraway 2001-2002 he's been a host, a friend, a dad, an incredible headmaster... And someone to lean on 100 per cent.

And every time I come, whatever happens, I feel safe.

First day of school for Arturo

Arturo oggi comincia a scuola.

Mentre io facevo lezione di cultura italiana (una lezione segmentata e con lavori di gruppi interattivi e creativi.. proprio come le colleghe finlandesi mi hanno insegnato 20 anni fa)..

lui cominciava la sua esperienza come studente.

Quando sono uscita dalla mia classe l'ho intravisto che mangiava alla mensa coi suoi nuovi compagni e chiacchierava tranquillo.

Più tardi seguirà la lezione di fotografia!!!

Che dire.. amazingly happy!!!

Sauna time

Finalmente la prima Sauna!

..col solito bagno nel lago.. 

Era organizzata dalla scuola subito dopo i colloqui coi genitori.

La temperatura della Sauna era di circa 60° e l'acqua del lago circa di 10°. Per quattro volte abbiamo fatto 10/15 minuti in Sauna e poi bagno.

La serata è finita con il cielo venato di rosso e la pelle liscissima!

 

 

My first weekend in Finland!

An evening in Helsinki with Jaana and Jukka to see the famous band Ultra Bra for an incredible concert at the Stadium.. 

and a Sunday in the forest.. after having swam in the lake which is getting colder and colder..

 So, everything is still as it was 24 years ago when I came for a one-year Socrates project.

Students in their socks, huge windows on the forest, cheerful people... Very quiet and genuine.

And brand new environment, with modern design and nice colours.
